How To Guide

Short step by step guides for everything on Tradie Lady Hire. Pick who you are and jump straight to what you need.

Who are you?

For Homeowners & Businesses

I need a tradie for a one-off job

Posting your first job, handling the responses, hiring your tradie and leaving a review.

1

Post your first one-off job

  1. Go to tradieladyhire.com.au and hit Post a Job. You do not need an account first.
  2. Choose One-off job, then use Search services… and pick the trade you need.
  3. Write your Job Title and Job Description, and add the suburb and postcode of the work.
  4. Add photos if you can, up to 5 at 5MB each. Photos get you far more accurate replies.
  5. Enter your name, email and phone number. These become your account.
  6. Hit post. Your job goes live, your account is created, and you land straight in your jobs list.

Posting a job costs you nothing. Homeowners never pay Tradie Lady Hire.

2

Log back in and view your responses

  1. Go to tradieladyhire.com.au and hit Login in the top right.
  2. Use the email you posted the job under. That is the account created for you.
  3. You land on your dashboard. Open the jobs tab to see everything you have posted.
  4. Each job lists Job Title Job Type Posted Status Action.
  5. Hit View Responses (3). The number in brackets is how many tradies have replied.
  6. Nothing yet? You will see No Responses Yet, which is normal in the first few hours.

Respond when a tradie replies

  1. You get a notification on the bell in your dashboard, and on your phone if push is on.
  2. Open the job and hit View Responses to see everyone who has put her hand up.
  3. Tap View Profile on each card for her experience, certificates, licences and reviews.
  4. Every tradie who responds shows her phone and email, so nothing needs unlocking.
  5. Use Call or Email to reach the ones you like the look of.
  6. Contact as many as you want, then organise the next step with her: a quick call, a site visit, a quote.

There is no lock in and no commitment on the platform. Tradie Lady Hire makes the connection, then you and the tradie sort out the rest between you.

Post multiple services on one job

  1. In the job form, Search services… lets you add more than one trade to the same job.
  2. Handy when the work spans trades, like a bathroom that needs a plumber and a tiler.
  3. Each trade you pick shows as a tag you can remove before posting.
  4. Set how many people you need, and how many of them must be certified.
  5. Each service collects its own responses, so you get a View Responses count per service.
  6. Different address or time frame? Post it as a separate job to keep the responses clean.

  1. Open the jobs tab and find the job in your list.

  4. To cancel, hit Cancel Job and give a quick reason, such as "No longer needed".
  5. Changed your mind mid-way? Keep Job backs out of the cancel.
  6. Cancelling stops new responses. If a tradie was already chosen, let her know directly too.

For Employers

I'm hiring apprentices or staff

Posting a role, picking the right listing type and running several positions at once.

1

Post a role and pick the right option

  1. Start the same way, with Post a Job from the site or Post Job from your dashboard.
  2. This is the bit that matters: choose the right job type for the role.
  3. Apprentices for apprenticeships, Long-term employment for ongoing roles.
  4. Pick the trade, then write the role title and a clear description of the position.
  5. Set the experience level, from first year through to qualified 5+ years, or the wrong people apply.
  6. Add the location and the start date, then pay the $15 flat fee and post it. Your job stays live until 3 tradies apply.

Once it is live, matched tradeswomen see the role and apply through the platform. Employment listings and one-off job listings go to different people, so a one-off post will not reach apprentices or job seekers.

2

Post several roles at the same time

  1. You are not limited to one listing, so post as many positions as you are hiring for.
  2. Use a separate listing per role so each one reaches the right people.
  3. Hiring at different levels? Post one listing per experience level.
  4. A first-year apprentice and a third-year apprentice are two different pools.
  5. Open a listing to review each applicant's profile, certificates, licences and experience.
  6. When a role is filled, close that position. Your other listings stay open.
